and Climate: Chaminuka lies at latitude 15'10" South and longitude 28'30" East and at an altitude of 1,100m (3,600 ft). The climate is sub-tropical with a long dry season (ideal for game viewing) and a short wet season (November to April). Throughout the year day temperature is generally warm (25C/77 F) the hottest and most humid month being October when temperatures can reach low 30's (around 90F). The coolest weather is experienced in June and July when nights can get cold but daytime temperatures are pleasant. |
Health: Zambia is a malarial area and we strongly advise all visitors to consult their local physician regarding prophylactics prior to departure. Both medical and travel insurance are highly recommended. |
What
to Bring: The dress code at Chaminuka is very relaxed. Bush coloured clothes are best. A few essentials to pack: a warm jacket or a sweater for the evenings, light cotton shorts and trousers, long-sleeved cotton shirts, hat, sunscreen, bathing suit, walking shoes, your camera and binoculars. |

| Visas: Most foreign nationals need a visa which can be obtained in advance at Zambian Missions abroad or on arrival. Most Chaminuka guests travelling on a packaged tour arranged by Chaminuka or a tour operator/travel agent can obtain Visa Waivers (full passport details are required for this purpose a couple of weeks in advance of arrival). The airport is serviced daily by international carriers directly from London, or via Nairobi, Addis Ababa and Johannesburg from Europe, the United States and the East. |
