Introduction

With breathtaking sunsets on the fringes of Lusaka, Chaminuka started out as the stately home of entrepreneur, historian and author, Andrew Sardanis. The lodge’s design draws inspiration from a Zambian village and numerous guests including revered artists and historical figures have called it home. Just a short drive from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, Chaminuka is a luxury getaway with a 24-hour front desk and friendly staff to ensure you enjoy your experience. Set in an estate and nature reserve of 40 square kilometres, selected suites have a balcony and/or terrace that provide great views of the landscape, and their walls showcase paintings from one of Zambia’s largest fine art collections. About a thousand pieces of contemporary African paintings and sculptures, as well as traditional artefacts were acquired from all over Africa over half a century and can be seen all over the lodge.

If you’re looking for a self-catering experience, there are four fully furnished villas whose décor boasts a contemporary African theme. Full catering at the villas is also an option.

The lodge is home to over 7, 000 exotic animals, some of which you can see during game drives or get up close and personal with: Experience the thrill of the cheetah walk and lion feeding or enjoy the majestic elephant walk. Chaminuka also has about 300 species of birds, some native to the land and others visiting the water bodies for rest during their long migrations.
